Cost efficiency has always taken centre stage at Monitor Systems

In an attempt to cut costs and pass on cost savings to its customers, Monitor Systems Engineering has been looking at how both general and bespoke engineering projects can be delivered by more efficient use of time management, new technology and innovation, and challenging nonessential procedures or functions that does not affect the overall integrity or safety of the asset.

Monitor Systems is also looking at in-house procurement procedures to further support its management objective to reduce costs across the board and pass on savings to its customers.

Ultimately, Monitor Systems aims to remove nonessential links and activities in every procedure and methodology, while remaining to utilise state-of-the-art technology and product innovation to provide both short and long term cost savings and benefits.

The general rule of thumb when costing for a job is to put forward a quote based on what the customer specifies in their documentation enquiry, however what the customer specifies and what the customer actually needs, can vary dramatically under certain circumstances.

Every project enquiry received at Monitor Systems is evaluated by our technical support department and discussed with the customer direct. In most cases a detailed survey on location or advice from our technical department identifies many nonessential elements that provide both short and long term cost savings and benefits for the customer.

For example, nonessential elements can be made up of many different things including none requisite certification standards, rating, compliance, pressure output, capacity etc. Our technical overview and clarification provides a more accurate understanding of ‘actual’ needs.

A mix of new technology, innovation and challenging nonessential parts, standards, procedures or functions that does not affect the overall integrity or safety of the end system, means that ‘real’ savings can be identified prior to submitting cost proposals.
